FTP Settings

The FTP settings provide for two separate FTP destinations:FTP1 and FTP2. You can select from three types of FTP: normal FTP, SFTP and FTPS.  Consult your FTP host for the proper FTP type to use for your server.

To use normal FTP leave SFTP unchecked.

To use SFTP check the SFTP box and leave FTPS unchecked.

To use FTPS check the FTPS box and leave SFTP unchecked.

You can select the port for SFTP and normal FTP.

The default upload method is Delete->Rename.  If your server supports it set the Upload Method to Overwrite.  The overwrite method will send the capture image to the FTP server as a temp file and then rename it to the destination name.  The Delete->Rename method also uploads a temp file but will first delete the destination image file before the rename.  In this case there will be a moment when there is no image available which might be only 1 second.  If a user attempts to reach the image it will result in no picture availabe.  That is
why the Overwrite method is preferred.

Under FTP Settings there are the common inputs for FTP usage.  These are FTP username, FTP Password, FTP domain or IP address, Website folder (if required) and JPEG image upload filename.  This is the name of the jpeg image that will appear on the server.  The timelapse video name is handled on the Time-Lapse Video tab page and not here.

If it is desired to send only a Thumbnail image to the FTP server check the Thumbnail only upload checkbox.  This can be usefull if for instance you are capturing very large images say 5 megapixels with large pixel dimensions.  You may only want to save those to the local hard drive.  The thumbnail option lets you send a smaller copy of the image to the server.  You can send a thumbnail image and the full image if you wish by checking the checkbox for thumbnail on the Exposure tab page.

You can overide the JPEG image upload filename with the checkbox for Upload image file as yyyymmddhhmmss.jpg.  This will send each imaeg to the FTP server with that unique name.  Note that images will now accumulate on the server if this option is checked.

To send images the FTP2 server select the radio button for FTP1 and FTP2. Note that FTP2 will only upload images and not time-lapse video files. FTP1 will be used as the destination fo
